Breeding bird surveys 2014

We have provided a gallery below of some of the photos we took this season during our breeding bird surveys. The surveys we have been working on include hen harrier surveys in Co Kerry, Grouse surveys in Co Wicklow, breeding wader surveys in Co Offaly, and general breeding bird surveys at a number of additional sites.

Most of the survey work we have been involved with this season is related to proposed wind farm developments. However, we can provide surveys for all types of developments that have the potential to impacts on birds and their habitats. A selection of the photos we took during our breeding bird survey work this year are provided below.

We conduct bird surveys in all types of habitats and utilise a broad range of techniques.  During all surveys we use standard methodologies approved by the National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS). Current recommended guidance we follow in relation to assessments at proposed wind farm sites is the ‘Recommended bird survey methods to inform impact  assessment of onshore wind farms‘ by Scottish Natural Heritage (2014).
