Greenland White-fronted and Greylag geese in the Irish Midlands

We are currently very busy with a number of winter bird surveys and we recently took these nice photos of geese (both Greenland White-fronted and Greylag) in the Irish Midlands. Some of the photos were taken on a former Bord na Móna peat extraction site, and some of these old industrial bog sites are now being used by significant numbers of geese and swans. Click on one of the photos below to view in gallery mode.

If you would like to see additional photos and also read a discussion of Greenland White-fronted geese, Whooper Swans and Greylag geese in Ireland, please see this post on our main website.
