River Barrow aquatic ecology surveys

ECOFACT staff continued with a number of Aquatic Ecology and Fisheries surveys this week.  Surveys included white-clawed crayfish surveys, lamprey surveys and fisheries surveys on the River Barrow. The gallery below shows some of the lamprey and crayfish survey work we are currently undertaking on behalf of Waterways Ireland on the River Barrow navigation. The results of these surveys will be used to inform the Ecological Impact Assessment and Natura Impact Statement for major maintenance and upgrade works on weirs in the Barrow navigation.
